Blizzard's World of Warcraft, its massively multiplayer online role-playing game based on the popular Warcraft franchise, will go on sale November 23, the company announced today. Blizzard's World of Warcraft Community Site is also ramping up its coverage of the game ahead of its release.

"In World of Warcraft, players assume the roles of legendary heroes and interact with thousands of other players online as they explore and adventure across a vast world. Whether journeying together or questing on their own, players will engage in heroic battles, develop friendships, forge alliances, and compete with enemies for power and glory. The game features customizable character classes with thousands of weapons, spells, and abilities. With an innovative, easy-to-use interface, an action-packed combat system, and thousands of quests that build an immersive storyline, World of Warcraft offers a MMORPG that will appeal to both veteran and casual players alike," the press release states.

World of Warcraft will be available for $49.99 in the U.S. and will include a free one-month subscription to the game. A Collector's Edition for $79.99 includes a behind-the-scenes DVD, cloth map of the game world, soundtrack, coffee table book, commemorative game manual, and an exclusive in-game pet. Monthly subscriptions will run $14.99 on a month-to-month plan, $13.99 per month for a three-month commitment, and $12.99 per month for a six-month commitment.

The game will also be available in Australia and New Zealand on November 23, with release in Korea, Europe, and other countries expected shortly afterwards.

In other gaming news, Aspyr today announced that MTX: Mototrax, "the fastest, most intense and complete motocross game ever created for Mac and PC," has gone gold and will be available November 15.

MTX Mototrax requires a 1GHz G4/G5, 256MB RAM, and a 32MB ATI Radeon 7500/mVidia GeForce 2 video card or better. The game is available for pre-order for $19.95.

Here you can find everything about WoW you need at the lowest prices. With first-class service attitude and good team-work spiritHaving only just congratulated Blizzard for actually getting a MMORPG to the beta stage in the US, a task at which many others have failed: the massively online curse has seemingly struck again. This time, the hand of god has made a direct intervention, shaking up the contents of the entire east coast of America with the breezy fury of hurricane Ivan. One of the subsequent tornadoes stirred up in the hurricane's wake rampaged across Virginia, taking down power lines all around: meaning that the datacentre containing all of World Of Warcraft's beta servers had to be shut down.
